Product Description
NautiCOMM System
Download PDF: NautiCOMM
The NautiCOMM system was designed in order to provide mission-critical speech kit solutions for aquatic environments. The system targets the requirements of personnel involved in heli-transported search and rescue, scuba rescue, coastguard-SWAT commando actions, navy seals operations etc., assuring clear communications with waterproofed protection.
The solution functions as an accessory add-on to existing deployed PMR devices and is composed of two parts: a head-gear and a Radio Interface with PTT.
NautiCOMM Waterproof Headsets and Earsets
Waterproof headsets with electret microphone waterproof to IP67 grade, may be worn by means of the NautiHS scalp-gear or directly fitted in the NautiHelmet and may be connected to a NautiBAG, NautiSACK and NautiBOX.
Available models:
NautiMIC3: Waterproof head-gear with electret microphone to IP67 protection grade (30min @ 3m) fitted with individual volume control for optimising listening level according to environmental background noise. The primary context application driving the performance specification has been the use of aqua scooters.
NautiMIC20: Waterproof headset with electret microphone, waterproof to IP67 grade (30min @ 20m). The specific technologies adopted allow the wearer an immersion depth to 20 metres. It has been specifically designed according to the needs of scuba commando units and law-enforcement divers.
NautiMIC10-P: Waterproof headset with electret microphone waterproof to IP67 grade (30min @ 10m) with the addition of a PTT button fitted on the ear-cup assembly.
NautiLAR: Waterproof headset with throat microphone rated IP67 (30min @ 3m) fitted with individual volume control for optimising listening level according to environmental background noise. It has been designed specifically for very noisy environments. NautiLAR may be worn directly with NautiHS scalp-gear or directly fitted into the NautiHELMET. NautiLAR may be connected to NautiBAG, NautiSACK and NautiBOX.
NautiEAR: A waterproof in-the-ear earset with bone-conduction microphone, and IP67 protection rating (30min @ 20m). With extremely compact dimensions, it is optimal for operation in very noisy environments. It is worn directly under the driving hood. It has been designed specifically for special forces. NautiEAR is fitted directly to the ear and may be connected to NautiBAG, NautiSACK and NautiBOX.
NautiCOMM Components
NautiBOX: Waterproof interface unit with IP67 rating (30min @ 20m). Extremely compact, it allows all NautiCOMM headsets to be directly connected to waterproof radio units in an IP67-consistent system. It has been designed for wearing directly in the pockets of helicopter-rescue harness and its PTT switch may be activated also whilst wearing scuba gloves.
NautiHS: Support scalp-gear for the fitting of NautiMIC and NautiLAR sets.
NautiADAPTERS: Adaptors for NautiCOMM system BAG and SACK interconnection to various radio units.
NautiHELMET: Lightweight helmet in Moplen construction, certified for water sports and suitable for housing all NautiMIC / NautiLAR headgear.
NautiPTTS / NautiPTTL: Corded PTT units (30 min @ 10m), sufficiently long that they may be activated by acqua-scooter drivers without taking their hands off the handlebars (NautiPTTL - 92cm / NautiPTTS - 52cm).
Waterproof Bags
NautiBAG: This waterproof bag with IP67 rating (30 min@ 10m) allows for all the headsets in the NautiCOMM line to be connected to the most portable transceivers by means of special connectors or adapters. The ample size can host even large PMR units (for example the OTE Puma P808D, Prodel P3/95, Motorola XTR3000, etc.) as well as auxiliary modules and parts needing water protection. It has been designed to be comfortably clipped to standard diving harness or worn on the diver's back with supplied cordura straps. By means of IP68 connectors, any NautiCOMM headset and PTT may be connected.
NautiSACK: This waterproof sack with IP67 rating (30min @ 10m), by means of special connectors or adaptors, allows for all the headsets in the NautiCOMM line to be connected to the more compact portable transceivers such as the Motorola GP344/GP388 etc. The smaller size and different shape compared to the NautiBAG allow it to be worn on the back but also to other parts of the body by means of the cordura straps and "fast-lock" buckle. To minimise clutter and accelerate installation, the PTT is connected directly to the sack. By means of the IP68 connector it may be used directly with any NautiCOMM head-gear.
NautiSACK-NS: Waterproof sack with IP67 rating (30min @ 20m), it allows for all the headsets in the NautiCOMM line to be connected to most of the common portable transceivers by means of special connectors or adapters. The dimensions, shape and connectorisation solutions have been developed specifically for accommodate large radio. Thanks to the support straps on the rear, this sack can be adapted to all types of tactical clothing both for immersion and non-immersion situations. The PTT is reinforced and mechanically resistant against accidental shocks. The entry sleeves are in aluminium and completely sealed for total water protection.
