System Flexibility
The Teldio Phone Bridge application delivers a feature set that goes beyond what analog phone patches can offer. With the advent of MOTOTRBO, telephony features that were once technically impossible on a two-way radio platform are now available by leveraging the advancements made in digital two-way radio.
Phone Bridge can be configured to work with Analog and SIP based PBX and central office infrastructures. In doing this, the application allows for multiple workflow configurations and settings programmed in the PBX to now extend out to your MOTOTRBO network. For example, in a scenario where hunt groups are implemented on a PBX that includes a facilities team of phones extensions, your MOTOTRBO radios can now be part of that hunt group. This increases the probability that a call is not missed during daily operations. Other functions such as call forwarding and voicemail which may be enabled on a PBX are all accessible from your two-way radio via the Phone Bridge application.
For deployments that do not require PBX integration, Phone Bridge can still provide a feature rich telephony experience by connecting to an internet telephony service provider (ITSP) or directly to the PSTN. Many of the PBX features that you would find on enterprise level PBX networks such as extension assignments and dialing, hunt groups, emergency call routing, and even voicemail services are instead hosted and managed on the Phone Bridge server. For an added level of flexibility, an auto-attendant, or virtual receptionist, can be implemented to facilitate corporate directory lookups and call routing for phone users looking to get in touch with radio personnel.
Privacy and Security
The advancements in digital two-way radio allow the Teldio Phone Bridge application to ensure a 1-to-1 conversation between phone users and radio personnel so that communications are kept private and secure. For an additional level of security, Phone Bridge has built in security provisioning which prevents unwanted or unnecessary phone users from dialing into an individual radio user by entering a security pass code. Administrators can also dictate calling parameters for each individual radio user, otherwise known as Class Restrictions. In doing this, they can limit Phone Bridge use to 911 only, internal extension dialing, long distance calling and more.
Management and Administration
The Teldio Phone Bridge application sits ont he Radio Branch Exchange (RBX) Server which is accessed via a secure web interface. This interface is your one-stop-shop for configuring and managing all your Teldio applications and can be accessed from anywhere. System Administrators can monitor and control all the settings and configurations from this intuitive interface.
